ANNOUNCEMENT: Referee Development Training - Club and Society Referees The RFU Continuous Referee Development Awards are aimed at both Club Referees and Society Members who wish to hone their skills on any one of 14 aspects of refereeing the game. Club coaches and Youth Rugby volunteers are especially welcome to share some views about the game and learn what every referee should know. The sessions are held at clubs throughout the North Midlands and Staffordshire and generally last about 90 minutes with a bit of discussion over a pint afterwards.

NEWS: Grading Update
The Grading Committee met on Tuesday June 8th, and were please to grade 13 new members for the first time. A big welcome to the society for Trevor Brice, Rob Bond, Leigh French, Claire Foster, Chris Keen, Dave Morris, Sean Tate, Stephen Thomas, Sean Watkins, Stephen Wild, Bill Worth, John Garbut and Andy Wigley.

RFU Entry Level Referee Awards – Download the Latest Course Diary [Click Here] Contact Allan Hughes on 01902 676009 for availability on his courses. If your club needs a course for a group of people 8 – 10 candidates he will be able to arrange one for you.

RFU Referee Development Awards – Suitable for Club Referees & Coaches or Society Referees who wish to hone their skills. 90 minute concentrated sessions on one of 12 aspects of the game. LATEST IRB & RFU DIRECTIVES:
There are no new laws for the 2010/11 season but the iRB want us to interpret the current ones slightly differently to encourage open play. As Ross Campbell put it at the September meeting - the maxim in the tackle area is "everybody releases"

ADVISERS CORNER: Back to Basics
After the fun of the ELV’s and the different laws, and interpretations between the Northern and Southern hemispheres, it looks like season 2010/11 will be the one where rugby looks the same wherever it is played.
